Easy access to the beaten path

In Grand Island, the major highway doesn’t come barreling through the center of town - but you will find it a convenient 12-minute drive away. That sums up living here - off the beaten path but close enough to jump right on and go, whenever and wherever you want.

  • Access to I-80 - With three interstate exits, Grand Island provides a fast drive from here to almost anywhere. Via I-80, you have access to New York in the east and San Francisco in the west - as well as all points in between.
  • Airport - The Central Nebraska Regional Airport - noted for its beautiful, modern terminal - provides daily flights to the national hub of Dallas/Fort Worth via American Eagle. From there, destinations across the country or around the globe await. Allegiant offers twice-weekly flights to Las Vegas and Phoenix/Mesa.
  • Great outdoors - Grand Island means city conveniences surrounded by outdoor fun. Take a ride or run on the city’s 30 miles of hike-and-bike trails. Cool off with tubing on the Platte River, or camp at Mormon Island State Recreation Area. Hunting, fishing - and birding - opportunities abound in central Nebraska.
  • Major cities - Grand Island’s low-stress, small-town atmosphere is only hours away from big-city amenities. When city lights beckon, it’s only two hours to Omaha, four and a half hours to Kansas City or six hours to Denver.
